Duns Castle, Scotland

Duns Castle is a historic house in Scotland with a rich history dating back to the early 14th century. The oldest part of the castle is a massive Norman Keep, or Pele Tower, which is believed to have been built in 1320. The castle has undergone several renovations and expansions over the centuries, with notable renovations being carried out in the 1790s by the architect John Baxter and in the 1820s by James Gillespie Graham. The castle has remained in the hands of the Hay family since 1698 and is currently used as a venue for weddings and corporate functions, with accommodation available for guests. It is also home to a publicly accessible park and two man-made lakes that form the Duns Castle nature reserve.
