Drum Castle, Scotland

Drum Castle is a castle located in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is believed to be one of the three oldest tower houses in Scotland, and is known for its 13th-century tower and 16th-century chapel. The castle has a long history, having been granted to William de Irwyn in 1323 by Robert the Bruce and remaining in the possession of Clan Irvine until 1975. In the 19th century, it was the home of Alexander Forbes Irvine of Drum, who oversaw a restoration of the castle and its chapel. The castle is now owned by the National Trust for Scotland and is open to the public for tours and events. It is also known for its gardens, which include a collection of historic roses.
