Clan Bain Tartan
The Bain tartan, designed by Trudi Mann of Wick, was commissioned by Robert Bain of Lybster, Caithness. It was initially created as a family tartan, intended to represent all individuals with the Bain surname, regardless of spelling, who were associated with the Caithness region. Trudi Mann provided specific details and thread count information for the tartan in March 2004. In August 2004, there were plans in progress, possibly involving Elliots of Selkirk, to have the tartan woven, although it had not been woven yet at that time. Notably, the tartan’s name underwent a change in November 2007, but the new name is not specified in the available information. This tartan’s design and history reflect its connection to the Bain family of Caithness and its evolving status within the world of tartans
