Pinkie Castle
Pinkie House is a historic house located in Musselburgh, Scotland. It was built around a three-storey tower house in the 16th century and was substantially enlarged in the early 17th century. It has a long history, having been the country seat of the Abbots of Dunfermline and later the home of Alexander Seton, who served as James VI’s chancellor. Prince Charles, later Charles I, also lived in the house as a boy. The building has undergone several alterations over the centuries and now serves as a part of Loretto School, an independent boarding school. The house is named after the Battle of Pinkie Cleugh, which took place near the site in 1547.
