Bardowie Castle
Bardowie Castle is a historic castle located in East Dunbartonshire, Scotland. This A–Listed building has been standing for centuries, with the oldest sections being built in the 16th century. It has been owned by the Clan Galbraith since 1214 and has been passed down through the family for generations. This castle is full of history and intrigue. It has been the home of many different families, the most famous being Thomas Buchanan of Spittal–Leny, whose descendants owned the castle until the early 20th century. The castle was even listed for sale in 2002, although it wasn‘t sold until 2019. The interior of the castle has been modernized, but still retains the charm of its past. There are six reception rooms, nine bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a library, cinema, sauna, gym, and two kitchenettes. The grounds of the castle are equally beautiful, featuring a former orchard, tennis court, walled garden, two garages, and a patio.
